LEADERSHIP AND DEBATE

This specialization will train students to make articulate and reasoned arguments and prepare them for formal and applied debate settings. Students will have hands-on access to SDSU forensics resources, one-on-one coaching, and interactive opportunities to practice and hone their skills.

Winning in Speech and Debate - (3 Credits)

This course combines an overview of communication concepts with training in public presentations. The purpose of this combination is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to competently communicate in a variety of communication settings, including interpersonal, group, public, and mediated contexts, as well as to be competent consumers of mediated messages.

Argumentation - (3 Credits)

Argumentation - (3 Credits)

In this practical skills class, students will focus on developing research and critical thinking skills. Students will be trained on how to construct and deploy reasoned arguments across multiple contexts with personalized coaching and peer-to-peer collaboration.
